Our history
VM Foto was born in the year 2000 in Barcelona’s Eixample district, founded by José Ventura and Mari Carmen on Viladomat Street. In 2002, the lab moved to its current location on C/ Calàbria.
VM was conceived as a small family business, opened after more than 30 years of experience in industrial labs, aiming to offer photographers a new concept of a photo laboratory.
Philosophy
The vision was clear: after years of developing thousands of rolls and prints, they wanted to create a specialized space where quality, personalized service, and meticulous care for every single client order would come first.
Inés, David and Miguel
The team
Shortly after opening in 2001, Miguel joined as an assistant when he was just twenty years old. Years later, David joined the team, and most recently, Inés became our newest member. The three of us will be delighted to assist you—whether in person, by phone, email, or chat—and we will do our best to provide the best advice for your project, whatever it may be.

We work with the most modern machinery in the industry, but we also rely on vast experience. This combination allows us to perfectly understand photographers and their needs. We work with everyone: from the most renowned professionals to the humblest hobbyists or the most dedicated students; here, everyone receives the same level of care.

Analog and digital
VM Foto was born and raised during the transition from analog to digital photography. We know both worlds well, although our heart has always belonged to analog—the original photography. Because of this, we have become a benchmark laboratory for analog photography, not only locally but also nationwide and internationally.

We have spent 26 years developing, scanning, and enlarging all types of film. At the same time, we have successfully adapted to the digital era, training ourselves and investing in high-end professional machinery to offer you the best results.

We are specialists in exhibition-grade enlargements, whether from film or digital files. We provide 100% manual processing to ensure your photographs look their absolute best. We also offer special discounts for exhibitions.
Finishings
Additionally, we can mount your enlargements on various substrates such as FOAM KAPA, FOREX, DIBOND, ALUMINUM FRAMES, etc.
Conditions
We offer special discounts for students and professionals, and our turnaround times are usually between 1 and 3 days, with no rush fees.
